yumenikkI sh tv CLICK MY HAND!
WELCOME TO MY HORROR CORNER :3

hello everynyan... decided to make a website talking about general horror things i enjoy. im a huge horror fan though i feel like i can never consume enough horror to begin with lol. i was raised on 'internet horror', and as i grew older began to seek out horror content including games, movies, args, etcetera. so i made a little shrine for some things i like! inspired by 'whitedesert' on neocities btw. so yeah!

these are mostly just random horror things i enjoy, not really with any rhyme or reason. its mostly just to talk about my interests and be silly ^^

also on the left corner there's a spooky cat! click on it and it chase your mouse (right after it sends u to the original domain)

also also, the audio file on the bottom of the page plays horror vocaloid/horro game osts. refresh for new songs!

alright, now that thats done, click on the boxes to see more about them! thanks for visiting! *apologies for any typos you might see.

yume nikki is one of my favorite games, actually! in it, you play as madotsuki, a hikkikomori who escapes through her dreams. the gameplay is mostly exploratory, where you go through different types of dreams and find out more about this world.

also this game's got some really devoted and crazy fans, which i enjoy! please play this game, its free lol link

now onto the spoiler talk! (please play this g

there are many interpretations of this game, but what i like most about it is how open ended it is. of course, we end with mado's suicide, but whatever caused her to become a shut-in and try to escape through sleeping is up to interpretation of the player. i think thats one of its best attributes! but of course, we can always theorize based on the symbolism apparent in the game. many think it was an unwanted pregnancy or maybe sexual assault which caused her to become reclusive and depressed, because of some of the utero/body like objects in her dream. others think it has to do with of a car crash, mostly because of the girl you find disfigured named "monoko"

we can also point to isolation, and bullying, which happens multiple times during gameplay, one of many examples being that of the block torininguen party seen here

there are MANY theories! i honestly couldnt talk about it all, the fandom wiki does actually a pretty good job from what ive seen tho

we may especulate as much as we want, but honestly i find the fun in the especulation itself! so please give me more theories about madotsuki and yume nikki. i love this game (smiles)

oh silent hill 2...a horror classic..... you probably know, but in this game you play as james sunderland, going through silent hill, searching for his wife who has sent him a letter, even though shes supposed to have passed.

this game honestly scared me while playing it, just the atmosphere and music was enough to unsettle me. the world, characthers and ambience are sooo good and always had me wanting to play it more and more

i will say though sometimes i had to use the wiki bc i got lost lmfao..but despite that i love this game so much <3

also theres a remake coming out but idk if im too excited for that but we will see i suppose...personally i emulated it so if u want to play it go do that (original copies are pretty expensive)

your turn to die is a death game made by majority! its a visual novel style game with puzzles, plot twists, "your decisions matter" type story, with beautiful art and characthers!!

its a game that always pulls me in whenever unexpected..i truly love the world and stories it created.

omggg the sillies.....go play this game rn pleasee here's the link

mad father is an rpg maker horror game, which became pretty popular because of youtube and its art style and story. i think its considered a classic for a reason, it has some pretty interesting plot beats and some crazy puzzles and jumpscares. also its art style is one of my favorites.

it follows the story of a girl discovering her father's crazy experiments and a lot things about her past, and her mother...

i think the true ending is also one of my favorites... its pretty sad and creepy, but it does make sense with what the main characther went through i think. i have a lot of nostalgia for this game.

go play it it has a remake on steam thats apparently good (ive only played the original)

IB is an rpg horror game, following a girl exploring a haunted and creepy art museum. it contains some really good scares, fun characthers, and amazing art in my opinion. its one of those games which always come to mind when talking about RPG horror to me, and i also have a soft spot for it because of nostalgia for when i played it when i was young.

i think its art style is one of my inspirations regarding horror art, also the puzzles combined with the spooky stuff happening in the game are specially iconic (the doll room being my favorite)

also, gary was one of my crushes AND i wanted to look like him

to explore this dark world, you can download the game here or get the remade steam version.

petscop is a youtube arg, and in its reality its about a dude named paul showing his friend an odd videogame he found. its one of the most well done and creative args on youtube and you should watch it without spoilers!!!

watch it hereee

its honestly one of those stories that are theorized a LOT (which i always enjoy) *excluding the game theory video, sorry matpat. being in the community during its time was very fun and honestly just from the art and creativity alone its worth watching all over again.

lacey's games is a youtube arg telling the story of lacey and her friends, in the format of old "girl's games" (i.e dressing up games, pet shop games..). its still ongoing and i really recommend you check it out if you enjoy horror args :)

(also its made by a brazilian hoorayyyy(im brazilian)

im gonna talk about spoilers for a bit so watch here before anything!!

shes just like me frfr

what intrigues me most about laceys games is the themes it chooses to represent! (warning for discussion of sexual assault, stalking, abuse and trauma).

i think it has a great introduction here, honestly some really fun and scary horror utilizing something you might feel nostalgic over... this series really changed the args on youtube, you can see a lot of stuff inspired by it :)

i know everyone talks about the cage scene in lacey's petshop but it really stuck with me the first time i watched it! her feeling safe again in the cage she was forced to stay in because of the many years of abuse she faced can be pretty relatable to people with trauma.

anyhow, im not gonna rant too much right now but please check it out!

marbled hornets is a youtube arg, a collection of videos of a group of ... friends.. who were going to make a movie, but this dude alex starts making video tapes regarding a creature known in the universe as the operator (aka slenderman)

this series was one of the first youtube series, youtube arg horror series especifically and one of the reasons why slenderman became so popular :) sure some things aged weird but i think its very interesting and i love the characthers and the story!

you can watch it using this very useful playlist here, which contains not only the main videos but also the side videos of its sister channel "totheark" (necessary for understanding the story fully)

also, if you can, after watching it theres also comics. im pretty sure theyre being updated still but theyre pretty cool and im excited to see where it goes...

i recommend going into this without spoilers so im not gonna spoil anything ^_^ go watch it with a friend perhaps!!

daisy brown is yet another youtube series, thought i will say its one of the most unique and creative ones ive seen imo. it is about the titular characther daisy brown's life and her ... alien brother? creature,,, alan. (depicted above)

again the themes in this story are very good, and accompanying this story while it was happening was very fun and interesting.. i remember following the theories and seeing the development of alan in the show in real time, which was very cool tbh.

also i just have to mention, the puppets in this series are so good!! i seriously love all the art involved here.

please watch it here, its really good!!

also, if you followed the series way before, the creator made a really cool video about it that you should check out!!

so, nana82753 is a youtube channel who focuses on making horror projects, those including animation with dolls and drawings, live action videos and now hes making a video game! (i had to google his gender apologies if im wrong lmao "^^)

theyre most known for username666 and my house walkthrough, two great videos!! my favorites are my house walkthrough and pokopokopikotan (content warning for depictions of sexual assault on that last one)

anyhow im excited for the game.. check out this channel its cool

vivinos is a youtube channel who mostly made yuri horror in the past (yes), and now is mostly known for alien stage, another horror series depicting humans who are forced to compete in a singing competition by aliens, basically.

iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii was there in the trennncheesss when vivinos was making awesome horror yuri (heres a really good and popular one). anyway im not serious i love alien stage and honestly im so glad it got me back to watch more vivinos!! i love her work!

also while we're here ill also mention qmeng whos also producing alien stage :)

all i have to say is if you enjoy really good animation, horror and great stories just check out her whole youtube channel... good stuff! (also alien stage has some great music)

so this cover is "this house has people in it" but i wanna use it to talk about alan resnick in general! hes a creator who makes some really good art (also known for alantutorial) and id really recommend you check out his work!!

im not very sure what to say about thhpii except for just watch it. if you like weird stuff, cool args, crazy theories just go watch it. and then fall into the alan resnick rabbit hole like the rest of us.

this house has people in it, unedited footage of a bear, and alantutorial are some classics.

yeah.. nbc hannibal is one of my favorite shows. ive watched it 3 times already (thats a lot for me), i got a tattoo of it, and i have got to go back to thinking about it profusely at least once a month

so.. it follows will graham, a criminal profiler and teacher of forensics whos hunting serial killers and more specifically the chesapeake ripper. thats the most basic plot of the show.

it is also a story about hannibal trying to manipulate everyone but most of all will who he is fascinated with... hes obviously the chesapeake ripper, and we follow the cat and mouse game of them both during the 3 seasons.

this series has some well developed side characthers mostly, jack crawford, alana bloom, and abigail hobbs specially being my personal favorites. they all have intricate relationships with the main characthers also alana gets in a crazy lesbian relationship later on if that interests you.

spoilers ahead where i talk about the gay stuf (sorry. sorry.)

so this series absolutely molded my brain when i was younger (i watched this way too young), and for better or worse it shows one of the most interesting relationships i think personally. ((you can think its platonic or not i suppose but you gotta admit the. the implications))

to sum-up my thoughts, their need to be understood and to understand each other is one of the driving forces of their relationship i think. hannibal desperately needs to be understood and will understands him, will has a certain need inside of him in which he seeks in his relationship with hannibal. its not a healthy relationship, but they both need each other in the end...

its pretty fucked up welcome to my evil and twisted mind etc

end of that, also, i need to mention the imagery in this show and the cinematography! im not showing them here because of the, gore, but the human cello, the eye and the totem are some dark and gotesque pieces of art that i have not seen in many tv shows or movies ever. say what you will but there was passion and love in this show.

lake mungo is a horror mockumentary following a family who just recently lost alice, sister and daughter, following her secrets and perhaps her haunting...

its seriously a great movie, it builds some good mystery and suspense and it freaks me out. the image of alice after her drowning is seriously still in my mind. im not sure why it freaks me out so much!! also, some great twists in this one.

in the end, its just a great piece about mourning. the emotions were intense in my first watching.

not your typical horror movie but go watchhh!

"X" and "pearl" are two horror movies regarded as being some of the best, with pearl (the prequel) being my favorite. it has a great performance by mia goth and some great suspense :)

i think both the movies compliment each other well, i personally watched X first with a friend of mine and honestly i always say watch it by release order most of the time!

X is a movie about a group of people who go to a farm in the woods to make an adult film, but are chased around by elderly couple (specially the woman) who are trying to murder them. pearl is the story of how that elderly woman became who she is, she is a young girl who lives in a farm but wants to be more. some great performances by mia goth btw

(also apparently theres a third movie but i havent watched that one lmfao)

the saw franchise started when two australian dudes decided to make a new and different horror movie. with it increasingly becoming more crazy and complicated, all the movies have something interesting about it in my opinion. one of the first movies to be denominated 'gore porn', the saw traps invite the audience to understand its main villain jigsaw and to think about what might happen if they were in those traps.

i think the saw movies are kind of niche in what kind of people like them, they can be considered pretty bad or exploitative if you dislike these types of movies, but they become really fun to watch if youre cool with gore and enjoy crazy ass plotlines

im not sure why or when my saw obssession started, but theres just something about the series that i really find fun to watch. maybe its the fast paced story and editing, or the insane plot twists at the end, i just really enjoy rewatching these movies, specially with friends. i really recommend it if u enjoy 'bad' horror movies (secretly good movies idec)

also mark hoffman and amanda young are my faves <3 beloveds

well.. everyone knows chucky. hes a serial-killer possessed kids doll who just around murdering people for fun i suppose. also he split his soul around a bunch of dolls and an adult woman. its fun!

i will say the movies just get more weird and crazy as it goes on. though im sure seed of chucky is probably the.. like.. weirdest, i suppose. my personal favorite is cult of chucky :)

anyhow, despite the old classics, if you think youd enjoy a killer doll going around making fun of people and then killing them i recommend it.

theres also a series now? and its very.. netflix-y but i had fun watching it

guys its the scariest movie ever made i cried and exploded watching it and satan himself was here

though joking aside this movie really holds up :) the religious themes are really interesting and the practical effects are so good. its just a great horror picture, the tone it sets right from the start and the ending make it a pretty depressing film for me.

also i havent done this in this page i suppose but theres a really good discussion of this movie on redlettermedia if you enjoy movie reviews (they also talk about behind the scenes stuff)

just a really good horror classic.. smiles

apologies for embedding a tumblr post here but i just needed to show u this scene since its one of my favorites... and hopefully can get u to watch evil dead if u havent!!

evil dead is basically about this guy named ashley williams who goes to this cabin in the woods and discovers this book called the necronomicon... and now hes doomed to lose everyone he loves ig and to fight dead people. its a horror movie but its extremely silly at the same time

this is one of my favorite franchises honestlyyyyy it has some great cinematography by sam raimi, and the second movie specially has a really good balance between horro and being silly goofy in my opinion

these movies are very fun to watch with friends... so id recommend that!! teehee

possible in michigan is a short film about two women who go to the mall and are stalked by a cannibalistic man, who later turn the tables on him basically. also its completely available on youtube and its only 11 minutes watch it hereee

also the songs here a bangers. also this is a musical i suppose. also gay rights i suppose? just go watch it its great

if youve been on the internet youve probably seen junji ito's art.. he's a manga artist who makes horror content, mostly known for tomie, uzukami, and for this image i suppose.

he makes some really great horror manga with some incredible art, honestly i cant really choose my favorite but oddly the long dream one is the first that comes to mind of what really stuck with me. id say maybe start with uzumaki though it has some really great moments in it ^_^

hes seriously inspiring as an artist, his hatchings, gore and expressions always blow me away..

satoshi kon's perfect blue is a psychological horror movie following mima... formely a pop star who decides to become an actress.. but she unfortunately realizes the bad side of that bussiness, to put it simply.

PB is one of my favorite movies of all time!! im not going to lie, its a pretty hard rewatch for me because of the themes of the film (i.e it contains themes of harassment and sexual assault), but the dread and psychological elements in this movie are so good and its really interesting watching mima slowly lose some sanity.

the dream like elements in this movie are truly amazing, and the topics of identity really stuck with me, the ending specially

ill talk spoilers for a bit since i really like this film

i specially wanna talk about the chase sequence between mima and her 'impostor' rumi, the way the animation blends between whats reality or illusion really makes the scene super memorable.

after watching these scenes and getting to the ending with the "im real" at the end, the unreality of the movie really cements itself i think and it makes for a really fun film to think and theorize about.

also if you really enjoy this movie you should watch "paprika" by satoshi kon as well, its got some amazing animation
